The best roads are found by riders
Every rider knows a road that a computer would never pick. On Byker, riders share them: planned, tagged, photographed and rated by the people who ride them. Every ride makes the next one better.
Ride what other bikers rate
The best roads aren't found by an algorithm. They're found by riders. When a rider publishes a ride, it comes with their photos, their description, tags that say what it's like, and honest star ratings from everyone who's ridden it.

Your page, your rides, your bikes
Every rider has a page that shows what they ride and the roads they've shared. You choose what goes on it.
Rider pages
Every rider has a page with their photo, a cover photo and a short bio if they like, their town, main bike, the year they started riding, published rides, the events they're organising and, if they choose, the events they've attended.
Your garage
Keep up to five bikes with a photo each, and choose your main one. It shows on your rider page as what you ride.
Never shown
Other riders never see your email address, birthday or gender, or your private rides.
Your riding mates, all in one place
Add the riders you ride with as friends, and start or join a club for your group, your marque or your town.
Friends
Send a friend request from any rider's page, and share rides with your friends only. You choose who can send you requests, who sees your friends list, and whether riders can find you by searching.
Find your people, then ride with them
Meetups, group rides, charity runs, shows, track days and training: riders organise them on Byker, and anyone can join. Every event can carry a route, so everybody knows the plan before they set off.

Say I'm going or Interested, and see how many places are left
Make an event public, link-only, or for invited riders
Set who it's for: women or men only, a range of engine sizes, or 125cc friendly for learners and small bikes. Byker checks this privately, so nobody else sees your details
Comments, a cover photo, directions to the meeting point, reminders before it starts, and Add to calendar so it's in your diary
Check in when you arrive, with a tap or automatically if you turn it on, so the organiser knows who's made it. Show the events you've attended on your page if you like
Events near you
Choose the kinds you like and how far you'll travel, and Byker tells you when a new one is posted
Events are organised by riders, not by Byker. Organisers choose a safe, public meeting point (a café or car park, never their home), and everyone rides at their own risk. See our Terms.
Sort the ride out without leaving the app
Message a mate, start a group for Saturday's ride out, or chat with your whole club. Drop in the ride or the event, and everyone has the plan in one tap.

- AliMeet at the café at 9?
- 9 it is. Bring a flask ☕

- One-to-one, groups of up to 50, and a chat for every club, ready the moment you open it
- Send photos, and share rides, events, places and a pin on the map as cards riders can open
- React, reply to a message, and edit or delete your own
- Messages arrive the moment they're sent while you're in the app, and as notifications when you're not. Mute any chat when it gets busy
- Block or report from any chat or message
Your friends can message you straight away. Anyone else sends a message request you can accept or ignore, and you choose who can send one. Riders aged 16 and 17 can only be messaged by friends.

It's off until you turn it on, and riders you've blocked never see where you are.
Share the road, not your front door
Routes and photos can reveal where you live. On Byker, your rides are yours until you share them, and you decide exactly who sees what.
What other riders can see
- Your rider pageYour @username, display name, profile photo, town (if you've added one), your cover photo, bio and the year you started riding (if you've added them), your main bike, when you joined, how many friends you have, your published rides and the public events you organise

Be decent to other riders
Byker is for riders to share good roads and ride together. When you use it, don't:
- post anything illegal, threatening, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or that bullies or demeans anyone
- post anyone else's personal details, like their home address, or anything that could help someone find or follow them without their agreement
- encourage dangerous or illegal riding, such as street racing or riding well beyond speed limits, or share routes designed for it
- post spam, advertising, scams, or misleading or impersonating content
- post content that infringes someone else's copyright or other rights
Reports and moderation
You can report any ride, photo, comment, tag or rider that breaks these rules, from inside the app. Our moderators review reports and may hide or remove content, turn off a ride's sharing, or remove tags. If you think we've got a decision wrong, contact us and we'll look at it again.
Ride safely
Ratings, tags and descriptions are riders' own opinions, and conditions change with the weather and seasons. Check every route before you ride it, follow the Highway Code, and never use Byker while you're riding.
Miles better together!
