Delete your Byker account

You can delete your account, and everything in it, at any time. Here's how, and exactly what happens.

Last updated: 18/10/2026

The short version

  • In the app: Profile → Account Settings → Delete account.
  • Your profile, rides, photos, garage, messages and everything else you've made are deleted straight away.
  • It can't be undone. Download your data first if you want to keep a copy.
  • Deleting your account doesn't cancel Byker Premium. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings.
  • Can't sign in? Email us from the address on your account and we'll delete it for you.

1. Delete it in the app

  1. Open Byker and sign in.
  2. Tap Profile, then Account Settings.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  4. Read what will be deleted, then type DELETE to confirm. If your account has a password, enter it; if you sign in with Apple, Google or Facebook, you'll confirm by signing in with it again.
  5. Tap Delete my account.

Your account is deleted straight away, and Byker signs you out on every device.

2. Keep a copy first

Deleting your account can't be undone, and we can't bring anything back afterwards. To keep your rides, photos and the rest, open Profile → Account Settings → Download your data before you delete. Byker makes a file with everything in your account.

3. What's deleted

Everything in your account, immediately:

  • your profile, profile and cover photos, @username, birthday, town and bio
  • your rides and their photos and folders, and your ratings, comments and plans on other riders' rides
  • your garage and its photos
  • the events you organise, and your place, invitations and comments at other riders' events
  • your friends, blocks, club memberships and privacy settings
  • your chats and the messages you've sent
  • alerts and cameras you've reported (ones other riders confirmed stay on the map, with nothing to say who reported them)
  • your support tickets and screenshots, and your Help votes
  • your notifications and their settings, and your phone's push token
  • your sign-in methods (email and password, Apple, Google and Facebook) and your Premium record

4. What stays, and for how long

  • Copies other riders saved: when you shared a ride, the riders you shared it with could save their own copy. Those copies are theirs, credited to "a former rider".
  • Clubs you own: pass to the longest-serving admin or member, or close if nobody else is in them.
  • Other riders' chats: your messages are removed, and you show as "a former rider".
  • Security records of actions on your account are anonymised, so they no longer identify you.
  • Backups of our database are overwritten within [30] days, so your data disappears from them within that time.

Our Privacy Policy has the full details.

5. Byker Premium

Subscriptions are run by Apple and Google, so deleting your Byker account doesn't cancel Byker Premium. Cancel it yourself, or it carries on and you keep being charged:

  • iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Byker → Cancel Subscription.
  • Android: Google Play → your profile picture → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Byker → Cancel subscription.

6. Can't sign in?

If you've lost access to your account, or don't have the app any more, use our contact form with the email address on your account, say you'd like your account deleted, and add your @username if you know it. We may ask you to confirm it's you, then we'll delete your account and tell you when it's done, within one month.

Forgotten your password? You may not need us: on the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password? to set a new one, then delete your account in the app.
