Use Byker without an account

What you can do as a guest, and what needs a free account.

Updated 18 October 2026

You can try Byker before signing up. On the sign-in screen, tap Explore without an account.

What guests can do

  • Browse the map and search for places and postcodes.
  • Plan a route, with up to 10 points.
  • Open events shared with you, and rides shared by secret link.
  • Read Help and the FAQ.

What needs an account

Saving, publishing and sharing rides, recording a ride to keep, joining or organising events, rating and commenting, friends, clubs and chats all need a free account.

When you tap Save on a route you've planned as a guest, Byker asks you to sign in or create an account, then brings you back to the planner with your route as you left it. A recording waits on your phone in the same way.
