Repairers, MOT centres and riding schools on the map
More places on the map
- On the Places map, More… now has Motorcycle repair, Motorcycle tyres, MOT centres and Motorcycle training.
- Bike shops that also repair bikes, fit tyres or do MOTs show under those too.
- OpenStreetMap doesn't say which garages test motorcycles, so an MOT centre's card reminds you to check before you go.
- Motorcycle repairers and tyre fitters count towards Gearhead, like bike shops.
Notifications
- Clear all at the top of Notifications empties your inbox in one tap.

Weather on the route, badges and rider cards
Weather on the route
- Open a ride and tap When are you riding? to see the forecast along the route for when you'll get to each part: rain, wind, temperature and daylight.
- Warnings for heavy rain, strong gusts, crosswinds, ice, fog, snow and riding after sunset, with where each one starts.
- The ride's map turns blue where it's wet and amber where it's windy.
- Events show the forecast for their start, along the route or at the meeting point, and the planner shows it for when you're setting off.
- Byker tells you the evening before if bad weather is forecast for a ride you've picked a day for, or an event you're going to.
Badges
- Check in at cafés, pubs, viewpoints, attractions, campsites and bike shops on the map, or stop at them on a recorded ride, to earn badges from Bronze to Platinum.
- Tap I'm at the start on another rider's ride to count it towards Road Tripper.
- Your badges are private until you choose to show them on your rider page.
Your rider card
- Share a card with your picture, @username and a QR code that opens your Byker page, from Rider card on your profile.

Fuel stops, twisty roads and bike upkeep
Planning rides
- Fuel check: add your bike's range in the Garage, and the planner tells you whether a ride is fine on a tank, suggests where to stop, or warns you about a stretch with no fuel. Tap a suggested station to Add as a fuel stop. Electric bikes get chargers instead.
- The same check shows on every ride's page, for your bike.
Twisty roads
- Every ride now shows how bendy it is, from Straight to Very twisty.
- Filter rides by bends, or sort them by Twistiest.
Sat navs
- Ride it now makes a GPX file for Garmin (zūmo, XT and BaseCamp), with shaping points that keep you on the planned roads when it recalculates, and one for TomTom Rider and MyDrive, as well as one for any other app.
Garage
- Add when your insurance renews, alongside the MOT, road tax and service.
- New Miles and upkeep: add your odometer reading, and rides you record on the bike count towards its miles. Set reminders for the chain, oil and tyres every so many miles, and tap Done when you've done them.
- Add when you bought your helmet, and Byker reminds you when it's 5 years old.
- When you save a recorded ride, choose which bike you were on.
Also
- Clothing and accessories shops on the map.
- Byker now asks for your location and notifications one at a time, so Rides finds where you are the first time you open it.

Garage reminders, your calendar and photo comments
Garage
- Add when your bike's MOT, road tax and service are due, and Byker reminds you 30 days before, 7 days before and on the day.
- Each bike in your garage shows the next date that's due.
- Choose your bike's make and model from the list, or pick Other to type your own.
Events
- Add your events to your own calendar with the calendar button on Community → Events. Events you organise, are going to or are interested in, and your clubs' events, stay up to date by themselves.
Comments
- Add a photo to a comment on a ride or event. Other riders see it once the ride's owner or the event's organiser approves it.
Your account
- See every phone and browser you're logged in on in Account Settings → Devices, and log out of any of them.

The Community tab
- The Events tab is now Community, with Events and Stolen & Found side by side.
- Stolen & Found has moved there from the profile menu, so it's always a tap away.

Stolen & Found, and roadworks
Stolen & Found
- Report a stolen bike, and riders within 25 miles, your friends and your clubs are told.
- Every report has its own link and a STOLEN poster to share anywhere.
- Riders who see it can tell you where and when. Only you see their sightings.
- Report a bike you've found, and Byker checks it against stolen bikes for its owner.
- Check a registration against open reports before you buy, in the app or at byker.net/stolen.
- The map's Alerts view shows where bikes are reported stolen most.
- Keep your bike's registration and frame number in your garage, private to you, with a security checklist.
Roadworks
- Official road closures and roadworks in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, in a new Roadworks view on the map.
- A ride's page and the planner show the roadworks on the route.
- Byker tells you about closures on your events' routes and your saved rides.
