Post to the Feed
Share rides, photos and questions with your friends, and react, comment and mention them.
Updated 1 November 2026
The Feed is the first thing in the Community tab, and the first page of the web app at byker.net/app. It shows posts from you and your friends, newest first. No adverts, no promoted posts and no algorithm.
Write a post
Tap What have you been up to? at the top of the Feed, write what you want to say, then add any of these:
- Photos: up to 10.
- Place: search for a town, road or café. Riders can tap it to open the map there.
- Tag friends: up to 10 friends who were with you. They're told.
- Who can see it: Everyone (any Byker rider, on your rider page), Friends (your friends, in their Feed and on your page) or Only me. Posts only you can see can't tag anyone.
Tap Post. To edit or delete it later, open the menu on the post. Deleting a post deletes its photos, reactions and comments too.
Riders aged 16 and 17 can post to their friends, not to everyone.
Who sees your posts
Your friends see your Everyone and Friends posts in their Feed. Your rider page shows them under Posts: Everyone posts to any Byker rider, Friends posts to your friends. Blocking a rider hides your posts from them, and theirs from you.
React and comment
Tap React to choose a reaction, or Comment to write one. Reply to a comment, and React to comments and replies too. You can delete any comment on your own posts.
Tap a photo to see it full size, with its own reactions and comments. Photos on published rides have them too.
Mention a friend
Type @ and the start of a friend's username in a post or any comment, on posts, photos, rides, events and Byker News, and pick them from the list. They're told. Only your friends can be mentioned.
Share a post
Tap Share to send the post's link (byker.net/p/ and a code). It opens in Byker for riders who can see the post.
If something's wrong
Tagged in a post you'd rather not be in? Open its menu and tap Remove my tag. To report a post or a comment, open its menu and tap Report.
